Multi-talented music legend, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds has been added to the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame after 40 years in the music business. The 10-time Grammy Award winner was joined on thursday, October 10, by his friends, Stevie Wonder, Toni Braxton, Diddy, Usher, L.A Reid, Khloe Kardashian, Kris Jenner and his ex-wife, Tracey Edmonds for his Walk of Fame affair.
In his speech, Babyface confessed he was shocked that this honor was been dished out to him after so many years or hard work and it was simply unbelievable. “It was surreal. That was not part of the plan. That’s what makes it an amazing thing.”
An emotional Toni Braxton, currently working with Babyface on her new album: “Love, Marriage & Divorce”, told the press that she was so proud of her longtime friend’s moment and wishes greater things to come. “I had a moment when I was about to cry. I was so proud of him. Because Kenny is kind of shy. He has a great sense of humor — a lot of people don’t know that about him, and he’s very modest. So I know it took a lot of pushing to get him to even commit to this.” Her album is due Nov, 25
Meanwhile, ace music producer L.A Reid said, “I just feel like what Kenny has done musically, and what he’s done as an inspiration to people as a role model has really advanced the culture. And a lot of babies were made,” with a chuckle.
Babyface joins the list of a few black entertainers who have also been honored with the Walk of Fame. Congrats Babyface, we are so proud!
