What’s not broken needs no fixing, right? But that’s not the case with Nigerian rapper
Olamide who has parted ways with his manager,
Tony Nwakalor.
Reasons for their split remain sketchy, but investigations have
revealed that the move was initiated by Olamide due to commitment issues
with Nwakalor.
The move is all the more surprising because under the management of
Nwakalor, Olamide’s star has risen to dizzying heights, attaining
superstar status, and penning an ambassadorial deal with liquor brand,
Ciroc.
Nwakalor who now runs
1805 Entertainment and Olamide started working together in August, 2011 after the rapper stopped working with his former manager,
Toni Payne. He’s currently the manager of ravishing actress,
Tonto Dikeh and Pop star,
D’banj, replacing
Bankulli who
had left the kokomaster acrimoniously two months ago. But working with
D’banj was bound to take its toll on his relationship with Olamide, as a
close source however divulged more saying Olamide lost faith in Tony
Nwakalor due to his unwavering commitment with D’banj.
‘Olamide seemed to have lost confidence in Tony because since
working with D’banj, Tony seemed to be more committed to D’banj than him
and it doesn’t work like that’, the source reveals.
Love Grown Cold: Tony and Olamide
Going forward, the YBNL CEO, has quickly lost no time in installing
himself a new team, as his new manager, simply identified as
Rachel, when contacted was in no generous mood. Declining questions with the rejoinder;
‘Do you actually expect me to tell you that something happened? Nothing happened, he just changed management and that’s all.’
All efforts to reach Tony Nwakalor for comments have hit the wall.
