Ghanaian actress, Jackie Appiah dusted all comers to win the Best Actress Award at the Nollywood & African Films Critics’ Awards, touted as the African Oscars. At the award ceremony held on September 14 at a red-carpet event at the legendary Warner Theatre in Washington D.C., the star beat others like Beverly Naya, Iretiola Doyle, Mbufung Seikeh, and Genevieve Nnaji to the award.
The movie ‘Turning Point’ which featured Jackie was also one of the big winners of the night as it picked multiple awards.

According to her, "this may sound crazy to a lot of people, no matter which body lotion I use, I don’t joke with my shea butter, which the Yoruba people call 'ori'. I don’t do any body therapy. I don’t go crazy in the name of fashion."
