2Face, Annie Idibia Dragged To Court Over Wedding Pictures
October 16, 2013 has been fixed by Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, for the commencement of trial in a N120 million copyright suit filed against music star, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face, his wife, Annie Idibia and their manager, Anthonio Anifite over photographs allegedly taken at the recent traditional wedding of the music icon and his wife in Akwa Ibom State.
Emmanuel Okolo, an Abuja based photographer alongside his studio, Papilonmexy is asking for six reliefs, two of which include N100 million in general damages and N20million in exemplary damages.
Neither 2Face nor his wife was represented in court at the resumed hearing of the case yesterday. Their manager, Anifite was however represented by his counsel, J.O Uttute.
Meanwhile, a mild drama ensued when the judge openly admonished Uttute after claiming he had filed his defence when he had not done so.
Also, the plaintiff’s counsel, Habeeb Oredola expressed worry over the defendants’ inability to appear before the court or be represented by a counsel after they were served with the writs of summon.
In the writ of summon, Okolo and his studio claimed they were contracted by 2Face’s wife through a third party, identified as Ms Chineze Anyaene to take photo shots at the traditional wedding held in Eket, Akwa Ibom state in March, 2013.
The plaintiff said, he was reluctant at the beginning since the offer was coming through a third party, but later accepted after he was convinced that the offer was actually with the blessing of the first defendant.

A jeweler has filed suit against hardcore rapper Rick Ross for not paying up on jewelry delivered to the rapper. According to the jeweler, the total sum of money Rick Ross owes is around the $90,000 region.
The watches were purchased late August 2012 and till date the Maybach Music Group boss hasn’t paid up. The jewelry shop is suing Rick Ross for the normal total sum of the watches plus interest.

About a week ago, the Aboki of Nigerian music – Ice Prince was on Twitter talking about how artistes are ungrateful to music labels that signed them and lots of other issues all surrounded by record label issues.
Well, now we all know what direction he was taking his concerns to. Very reliable sources have revealed that although Ice Prince didn’t directly call out Brymo’s name; the tweets were directly aimed at him.
Apparently, Ice Prince has bloated out what he thinks about former label mate Brymo’s departure from ‘Chocolate City’ record label.
Long story short, rapper Ice Prince indirectly called Brymo an outright liar and ingrate …the Aboki rapper express himself on Twitter, read his tweets below:

Well, the NDLEA got word on the incident and have threatened to investigate the matter which might land the actress in a 15 year jail term.
Here’s the funniest part, our self acclaimed bad girl and 9ja Rihanna heard the news and the actress soiled her pants, Tonto quickly came on Twitter and denied any such happenings, saying it was all photoshopped and that it was a fan that designed her name with the marijuana!!

Court Orders American Rapper To Take Etiquette Classes
A US judge has ordered rapper Meek Mill to attend etiquette classes and notify his probation officer before he takes any trips outside of the country.
Common Pleas Court Judge Genece Brinkley on Friday told the rapper, whose real name is Robert Williams, he must complete the classes before August 4, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
The orders came at a probation violation hearing for Williams, who is on probation for a 2008 gun and drug conviction for which he was sentenced to 11 to 23 months in prison.
He served eight months in jail and began five years of probation in 2009.
Assistant District Attorney Noel Ann DeSantis said Williams’ statements on Twitter and other social media had been followed by threats to his probation officer from some of his fans.
“I have my own record label with seven artists. … I do radio. I do interviews,” he said.
The judge said Williams needed etiquette classes to refine his use of social media and to help him explain the nature of his business to the court, adding that the etiquette classes were “more important than any concerts he might have.”
Brinkley in December barred the rapper from touring for a month after finding that he violated probation restrictions.
Williams’ lawyer argued at the time that the restrictions were preventing his client from earning a living, and said Williams didn’t need to check in with his probation officer because his fans frequently take pictures of him when he’s touring.
Williams’ Dreams & Nightmares album debuted in October and he appeared in Jay-Z’s Made In America festival earlier this year. [AAP]

Estranged rapper and producer Jesse Jagz has publicly released the official tracklist for his second album titled ‘Jagz Nation Vol 1‘.
Most fans expected at least a song with brother and former label mate M.I, but shockingly there was none; Ice Prince too wasn’t featured on the upcoming album.
Is Jesse Jagz haboring personal issues with former label ‘Chocolate city’ or did the rapper just not have enough space on his album for his brother and friend?
Jesse Jagz’s album contains 18 tracks and features artistes like Wizkid, 9ice, Lindsey and fellow rebel Brymo.
