”I wish D’banj and Don Jazzy can come back together” – Tiwa Savage

Tiwa, Mavin Records’ first lady, said somewhere at the back of her mind,she prays that the two music luminaries and founders of defunct Mo’Hits Records should come back together.

  “I am still in shock and when I listen to songs like Suddenly, I am like is this really happening? And I feel like they have left a void in the music industry in Nigeria and in Africa,” Tiwa said in a special feature on her in the latest edition of StyleMania magazine.

The songstress said she could not really point to what caused the rift between the two friends beyond different news reports she read in the media.
Tiwa, however, admitted that in line with some people’s perception of Don Jazzy, the super producer is indeed a “mysterious” guy.

“I’ll tell you the honest truth about Don Jazzy…he really is like that. He doesn’t really open his heart easily to people. He just accepts what happens and he moves on. I mean he is the Don, so I can’t go up to him and say ‘Jazzy, what really happened. I just keep my mouth shut,” she said.
In the interview, Tiwa defended the open show of sensitive body parts in her video which has attracted a lot of flaks.

“You know a lot of people say that in Africa we don’t like to expose ourselves and that is actually a big lie because if you check the history of Africa, we were actually very exposed. So I think it is quite ironic because people think that the western world is influencing us whereas we are the ones influencing the western world,” Tiwa argued.

“As far as the military authority is concerned, the activities of the [Federal] government’s Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of the Security Challenges in the North, led by Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, have not achieved the expected result. We are now using new strategies in our operations against Boko Haram,” the source said.

The senior military officer said the military was now re-strategizing its operations and tactics in view of its discovery that the Boko Haram sect was re-grouping and plotting a renewed insurgency with the aid a foreign terrorist network.

The source said the military has made it known to the Presidency that the amnesty committee now constitutes a distraction to their counter-insurgency response. “As those who have to fight [Boko Haram] on the ground, we think that the amnesty panel somehow undermines aspects of military operations. That is why the panel can no longer be considered in regards to the situation at hand,” he stated.

He said that Nigeria’s Chief of Defense Staff as well as the heads of the Army, Navy, Air Force, the police and the director-general of the Department of State Security have been briefed on the new development. “They are all on board, and they have all agreed that we need to re-strategize in order to contain the new moves Boko Haram is making.”  

According to the source, “From our findings and [the] reality of the situation, there cannot be dialogue with these Boko Haram elements. They are only the domestic face of an international terror group that is well-funded, and with organized units charting their interests. That is why we have to re-strategize and continuing our military operations without letting the dialogue stand in our way.”

The source added that mixing politics and insurgency challenge questionable policy. “It is not healthy and it greatly undermines military response to an issue that is threatening the sovereignty of the Nigerian state. Boko Haram, from our frank findings, is a domestic face of a global terrorism network. They have organization and tactical support. On what basis do you now dialogue with them?”

Asked to elaborate on the international dimension of Boko Haram, the source said: “During the first and second week of the state of emergency, we dismantled their camps and captured their bases in border areas with Niger Republic, Chad and Cameroon. Their coming back in Malum Fatori and other areas shows they have been mobilized beyond the borders of [Nigeria]. They were well armed and more sophisticated than ever before. It is clear they are a local face of something outside, and we must not politicize. Rather we have agreed that the issue should now be faced squarely.”

It has been reported through information gathered from a senior military source at Nigeria’s Defense Headquarters that the country’s military high command has formally decided to discard the “peace talks” between the Federal Government and Boko Haram.

Popular celebrity blogger, Linda Ikeji posted  a story about rapper Eva Alordiah being a victim of child molestation.

According to Linda Ikeji, Eva admitted the quote below, on the Hot FM Abuja Breakfast Show with Tutu and Cheezy Charles.

“We are such a country that is so blessed by God. We don’t have earthquake, volcanoes, tsunami. We are problems to ourselves and this is disgusting. I come from a background where I was molested as a child. Definitely it’s a serious situation where you have to put a child through that type of trauma.”

It seems the female rapper was not so pleased with the post and she took to twitter to attack Linda, who replied in return.

Peter Okoye Gives His Boo A Ring…And A Range Rover Jeep

Lots of years have made them younger, made their love stronger, their kisses sweeter, and their feelings deeper. 2 kids have made them family and now to make it legal they take the first step. Chris Brown Plan To Retire After Sixth Album

This is sure hell a shocker as much as it is a headliner for months. R&B super star Chris Brown began music as a young boy and now he is ready to bow out as young man? Breezy took to twitter pouring his heart out with the most awful words ever:
“Don’t worry mainstream America. After this X album, it’ll probably be my last album.” He went on to say, “Being famous is amazing when it’s for ur music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when I was 18. I’m cool & over it!”
We’ve been expecting a lot of things from this young man; first leaving Rihanna which he did, next was stabilizing his music which he also did. Thirdly, we needed him to stop that stupid drug he’s put himself onto which he is still to do but he was never expected to stop doing the only thing he loves to do – music!
Chris Brown has left his fans all over the world as shocked as vampire caught by daylight. Yes, he hasn’t been singing a happy tune lately but giving up on music altogether wasn’t part of the deal. Or is he been forced to take a bow? And speaking about his ‘mistake at 18’, Rihanna has forgiven him a long time ago and has moved on so why can’t he just deal with it?

Brown’s next album, X is coming out soon (August 20) but the singer did the police department a favor when he turned himself in for a suit related to his on-going hit and run case. He was however released after an hour. Chris then took to twitter to give his fans that bigger announcement.
We all remember artists who have made this same statement yet went nowhere so is Chris Brown doing same thing; making his fans to look forward and buy his upcoming album thinking it’s his last musical work?
It’s just hard to believe that a 23 year old Grammy winning musician will retire from music so soon. It’s just hard to take in. Sorry Breezy but we don’t believe you!
