T-Pain, Rick Ross and DJ Khaled Accused of Stealing Music, Facing $100M Lawsuit

T-Pain, Rick Ross and DJ Khaled are among big names, who are facing a $100 million lawsuit after being accused of stealing numerous songs, All Hip Hop reports. The lawsuit was filed last week in U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana by Paul Batiste, who represents a jazz ensemble The Batiste Brothers band.

Batiste claims that the rappers have illegally used the Batiste Brothers' music in their songs without permission or compensation. Some popular songs named in the lawsuit include T-Pain's "Blame It" and "Booty Wurk" as well as Khaled's hit "All I Do Is Win".

Artists Pitbull, Ace Hood, and record labels like Cash Money Records and Atlantic Records are also facing the same legal trouble as they are named defendants in the 118-page lawsuit.

"Defendants have blatantly poached beats, lyrics, melodies and chords from plaintiff's songs," the suit states. "Many of the defendant's songs have been released multiple times, in multiple versions and that each release constitutes an independent act of copyright infringement."

Batiste is seeking damages, profits and an injunction in order to prevent the defendants from using any more infringing material without his permission.
