February 11, 2012 will not leave our memories in a hurry because that day took out one of the world’s greatest singers. Whitney Houston was found dead in a hotel bath tub just at the eve of the Grammy Awards. An autopsy found she had drowned accidentally, with heart disease and cocaine use contributing to her death. She was buried next to her dad in Westfeild, New Jersey. Sad day indeed!
Well, her family has finally unveiled the singer’s headstone placed on her grave. The monument carries a tear-drop shape and a heart-shaped engraving with an inscription of the star’s portrait – gotten from the cover of her last album (I Look To You), her name and her date of birth and death and a powerful text, “The Voice”. A name she got after her death.
Beneath is the title of her greatest hit, a Dolly Parton cover of “I’ll Always Love You”. Whitney is survived by her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, mother, brother and ex husband and of course millions of fans across the globe.
May her gentle soul continue to rest in peace.
