2Face, Wizkid, Omawumi Attacked By Fans

Some fans of Nigerian entertainers 2Face Idibia, Wizkid and Omawumi are really upset with the trio and other acts for performing at the Nigerian Centenary celebrations which took place on Thursday 27th February at Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The trio and other stars including IK Osakioduwa and Funke Akindele who were the Masters of Ceremony incurred the wrath of some Nigerian youths for participating in a show they termed as uncalled for and a wanton waste of money, and coming shortly after more than 50 students of the Federal Government College, Yobe State, were slaughtered by Islamic militant sect, Boko Haram.

The fans are not happy that someone like 2Face who recently berated the country's politicians in an interview with a foreign radio station could also identify with the same politicians because of money.

The event which is in celebration of Nigeria’s 100 years of existence has drawn the flak of many who feel that hosting the show with so much pomp and pageantry at a time the nation should be mourning the death of innocent children is uncalled for.

Though many of their fans are of the view that it is the only way they could participate in the sharing of the national cake, others still think they have betrayed a majority of Nigerian youths who are feeling the brunt of the present government misdemeanors

Judge adjourns Brymo and Chocolate City case as both parties clash in court

The ongoing legal battle between Chocolate City and Brymo is set to continue as the case has been adjourned to a later date.
At a sitting at the Federal High Court in Lagos, the presiding judge, Justice Buba I.N was forced to adjourn the hearing after counsels from both parties clashed in the courtroom. The session started by 11:14 a.m and ended by 1:00 p.m.
Brymo’s legal representative, Nike Olagbede and Chocolate City’s counsel, T.O Lawal  clashed after a disagreement which led to the use of derogatory words between the two learned counsels during a court session. Justice Buba then announced that the case will be adjourned to a later date. ‘I will adjourn this case because the counsels have failed to portray themselves according to the stipulations of the court acts and acted in complete disregard to the court regulations,’ Justice Buba said.
The case has now been adjourned to Tuesday, March 4, 2014 as agreed by both counsels.

Speaking to The NET at the end of the court sessions, Brymo’s legal rep, Nike Olagbede reiterated Brymo’s desire to fight for his right. ‘Brymo will continue to fight. This fight is not for him alone. It is for all Nigerian music artistes against record labels set out to frustrate them’

Iyanya's Seal A Deal Worth of 145 Million Naira With Zinox

Ubi Franklin, who happens to be Iyanya's Manager, just disclosed that the singer signed a deal with Zinox worth 145million Naira in August 2013.

This was done to clear the air on Iyanya's messy involvement with “Task Direct”, who happen to sell gadgets that the Zinox group have a franchise on.

Beyonce Fires Her Corporate Manager, Hires Her Husband Jay Z To Run All Her Business Affairs

Beyonce has reportedly parted ways from her manager so that she can run her own affairs with the help of husband Jay-Z. The 32-year-old singer is believed to have ditched her general manager, Live Nation Executive Faisal Durrani, the Daily Mirror reports.

Durrani, 32, is one of several managers that Beyonce has dismissed over the years so that she can run her career with Jay-Z, 44. When Beyonce fired her father Mathew as her manager, she brought in Faisal Durrani to run her business. And had Jay Z as an adviser. Well now Jay is running 100% of Bey's career.

The 32-year-old singer is believed to have ditched her general manager, Live Nation Executive Faisal Durrani, the Daily Mirror reports.


Durrani, 32, is one of several managers that Beyonce has dismissed over the years so that she can run her career with Jay-Z, 44.

In 2011, the Texan singer sacked her father, Matthew Knowles, who managed the star for 21 years since she was in Destiny’s Child in 1990.

She became the president of Parkwood Entertainment, the entertainment and management company that she set up in 2008.

But now Beyonce has also allegedly dismissed general manager Faisal so that she can gain even more independence with her husband, who plays an unofficial managerial role.

A source told the Daily Mirror: 'Jay has been heavily involved in Beyonce’s career for years, and was instrumental in organising the Mrs Carter Show World Tour. But he isn’t officially regarded as her manager – she really is independent.’
